The Adventure Begins

The countdown to my bike ride to Slovenia has now reached the final three weeks. Although the original plan had been to complete the adventure on my Yamaha Townmate (all 80 ccs of it), it became increasingly clear that the trip might be more of an ordeal than a proper adventure. With this in mind I made the decision three weeks ago to purchase a more suitable lightweight bike within a budget of £2k and with the idea that it could always be sold afterwards if I had no further need for it. The outcome has been the acquisition of a nearly new Sinnis Terrain, a 125cc bike built in China and factory equipped with top box, panniers and crash bars. 200 miles on the clock, still under warranty and a bargain at £2000.

I am now in the process of getting enough miles on it so that it has its 1,200 service before I set off. I have also been in touch with Sinnis UK and they have been incredibly helpful and interested in the adventure. They have even gone as far as providing me with a larger top box, handguards, service items and information for the workshop in Slovenia which will carry out the 2,400 service which will become due by the time I get there. All free of charge! A big thank you to Lily Vaughan and the team at Sinnis UK.

  1. Hi Andrew I am buying a Sinnis terrain solely for the purpose of touring Europe and eventually further a field,
It would be amazing to touch base with you and go over any tips you have for the trip? Thank you
